Opava Eventing offers two incredible Specialty Camps! A one week Eventing Camp and our weekend Adult Horse Camp for the summer of 2022!
Bring your own horse, or use one of our school horses.
Eventing Camp
Come experience eventing for the first time or add valuable knowledge
to your existing skills! Eventing camp is a blast for all ages! Bring your
own horse or use one of ours.
Requirements:
Rider needs to be proficient at the walk, trot and canter, and have experience - at minimum - low level jumping. Instruction is offered from introductory to training level.
Costs:
$400/wk on school horse
$300/wk on own horse
$50/wk for overnight stabling Monday thru Friday (horse owner must provide their own feed)
Tentative schedule:
9 AM – 3 PM Monday – Friday
9 AM - 12 PM Riding instruction
12 PM - 1 PM Lunch (student provided)
1 PM - 3 PM Indoor Studies
Monday – dressage basics
Tuesday – how to ride your dressage test
Wednesday – stadium jumping
Thursday – cross country
Friday – mini-derby show: dressage test then jumping with stadium and cross country obstacles
Study includes: learning rules, understanding equipment, preparation for events, grooming for an event, differences of the levels, and tons more!

Adult Horse Camp
This camp is specifically for adults 21 years of age and older. Geared to the working and/or family adult, it is a weekend off for horse fun, relaxation and equestrian education. Campers are encouraged to bring their horse with them to camp! Special boarding arrangements will be available.
$350 - includes all meals, adult beverages, instructions, speakers and activities
$10/night - guest stabling
Times:
5 PM – 9 PM Friday
8 AM - 9 PM Saturday
9 AM – 6 PM Sunday
Tentative schedule:
Friday – 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM Arrivals and the "Meet and Greet Fellow Campers" cocktail hour
6:00 PM - 9:00 PM Dinner and guest speaker
Saturday – 8:00 AM to 12 noon Riding Instruction - may be broken up into 2 groups
12:00 PM to 1:30 PM Lunch
1:30 PM to 3:00 PM Activities - swimming/pool time, massages, arts and crafts
3:00 PM to 5:00 PM Guest speaker - TBD (vet/guest trainer/equine specialist)
5:00 PM to 6:30 PM Dinner
6:30 to 8:00 PM Trail ride
Sunday - 8 AM to 12 noon Riding Instruction - may include jumping and gymkhana
12:00 PM to 1:30 PM Lunch
1:30 PM to 3:30 PM Activities - swimming/pool time, massages, arts and crafts
3:30 PM to 6:00 PM Guest speaker and cocktail hour - TBD (vet/guest trainer/equine
specialist)
